Goa is one of the India's most popular holiday destinations, with its idyllic beaches, lush paddy fields, coconut plantations, white washed churches and colonial mansions. The tiny State, along the Konkan Coast consists of two Districts namely North Goa and South Goa. In 1510, Alfonso de Albuquerque established a small but powerful Portuguese enclave here. Though Goa became a part of the Indian Union in 1961, the 400 - years of Portuguese rule is still alive in the People's costumes, religion, cuisine and  music.
